schulkin > this reminds me of a story. so i lost my wallet on sunday. it was sort of a big burden of stress that overshadowed the third day of the fest for me. after rodrigo & gabriela played, i was swinging by the info booth to check the lost and found for the 5th time that day. they didn't have my wallet, but while i was there this policeman shows up with a wallet he had just found on the ground somewhere. it's a girl's wallet. so he's dropping it off, but about 20 seconds later that girl on the right in the picture (the one in shorts) shows up all distraught about her lost wallet. She is thrilled to find it, and thanks the cop for finding it. As she starts leaving the cop cordially adds, "don't worry, the joint's still in there for ya." She freezes, smiling at him like a deer in headlights. He smiles back. She walks off to huddle with her friends, and 10 seconds later they all look up and give a hearty little cheer to the cop. He walks over to hang with them for a minute. Then the cop goes about his business and everyone else walks over to see Wilco play. For one sweet moment it was easy to forget the countless lives that have been ruined, the student loans denied, the teenagers disowned, and the good people imprisoned by less sensible authorities.
