Bay To Breakers 2008 : This year I rolled with the Daft Punk pyramid. Thank you Durack and company for making that happen. Here are some photos. The bulk of these came from my camera, but I've also stolen some from Annie, Vaughn, Kwang, Noah, Emily, etc... Updated: I forgot to post this other link...according to SF Weekly, the Daft Punk pyramid was the "best float by far". Hot. Also this would be a good place for me to note that there is a pic (maybe a couple?) in this gallery that is NSFW. And I shall now link to another blog post with a picture of naked ladies. Congratulations to my friend Andrew for appearing in the background of that photo. A fitting addition to this gallery.

Boonville Beer Fest 2008 : May 9th/10th/11th we went to Boonville. On Friday we went to Nat's house and pitched tents in his yard. Saturday was the legendary Boonville Beer Fest. Sunday we went out to a spot on the Navarro river for the 5th (or arguably 6th) annual Crouching Beaver Pizza Invitational. Basically a traditional pizza making contest that usually involves a wood-fired oven in Elk, CA, but this year involved the creative use of some BBQs. My camera battery died before we got to the pizza, but I have some photos in this gallery that were taken by Sarah and Nicole, so thanks for those...

Holidays 07-08 : This album is a rambling hodgepodge of late 2007. Went home for Christmas, lots of family and family friends. After Santa Rosa we were back in the city briefly, then down to San Jose for a day with the Dawoods, including a swing through San Jose, and shortly after we cruised down to LA. We saw some sights, met some friends at a beer garden, stayed with Greg in Santa Monica, and then spent a glorious 24 hours in the Hollywood Hills with a somewhat intimate crew of friends. The jam.

Thanksgiving 2007 : This Thanksgiving we caught a redeye Wednesday night and got to Philly on Thanksgiving morning. From that moment until about 4:30am the following Tuesday, we lounged like royalty in Noor's parents' house in Newtown, PA. There were plenty of other relatives around for the first day or three, but of course we failed to capture most of them....the camera mostly came out a few days later as we played with Jack. Constantly. So this is essentially an album of pictures of lil Jack Wilson, but there ain't nothin wrong with that....

Housewarming Party a la Obama : On November 30th, 2007 we had a housewarming party with political undertones and beer overtones. It was mostly a celebration of Obama, but other people came representing Hillary, Ron Paul, John McCain, John McClane (ha) and so on... We had a little fire pit, "half-irish carbamas", and a ton of people. As usual, most of the wild and crowded moments were not the same moments when we remembered we had cameras, but we still snapped some decent shots throughout the night.

Circle of Mavis XIII : The 8th Circle of Mavis occurred last weekend. I offered to host it in my new home. Mayhem. If you have to ask what the Circle of Mavis is all about, please just move along to the next album... Thanks to whoever grabbed my camera and took all these pictures, and a special thanks to John for his amazing progression of drunk photos. Joey and Naomi's Wedding : Naomi and Joey got married on 9.8.7 at the B.R. Cohn Winery in Glen Ellen. I'm relatively new to weddings but it was definitely the greatest wedding ceremony I've ever witnessed. Too bad I took pictures of everything BUT the ceremony. I'm sure those photos will pop up and I will link to them later, but for now here's a fine selection from all the goodies that ended up on my camera when the dust settled...

Twain Harte 2007 : I took a 3 day weekend in Twain Harte. This is a place I've gone every summer since I was born, except for last year. I used to go for 2 weeks at a time, but this time I had to be a bit more efficient. Honestly I only uploaded about a third of the photos I took, and this album is still sort of crap. But the weekend wasn't crap. To sum it up, it involved kvelling with old family friends, drinking gin and tonics, playing miniature golf, doing a bit of floating, unfortunate lunches and wonderful dinners, and generally pursuing a tranquil state of mind.

Sierra Camp Weekend : On July 13-15, 2007, a caravan of 7 people (myself, Laurel, Maggie, Drewstew, Trainer, Ace and Justin) all went up for a visit at Stanford Sierra Camp, where all of us have worked in years past. We were interested to see the new staph as well as the aftermath of the horrible Tahoe Fire. We had crazy fun. This is our story.

Noor's Surprise Birthday Game : For Noor's 25th birthday I organized a surprise Go Game for her and her friends. It has surpassed other games to become the overall sweetest one that I've done. It's hard to describe what the experience was like for the 7 teams of 5 people each who played, or for the 12 other people planted around the gamezone as surprise secret agents and such.... This gallery won't succeed in conveying what the experience was like, but it will hopefully be a good reminder for those of you who took part. For a summary of the videos, you can check this out, or for all of the photos and videos, as well as the score breakdown for each team, check out this site. Thank you all so much for playing! Happy Birthday Noor!

One Night in New York : In late May 2007 I did a Go Game for MTV in Hoboken, NJ. The night after that went down, I cruised into Manhattan for a long overdue crazy Tuesday night! The sun was rising when the night was through, but not on the left coast, so it's all good.

A Very Dawood Weekend : The final weekend of April, 2007, was A Very Dawood Weekend! I had met Noor's brother and mother before, but never her father or sister or brother-in-law or nephew. I finally got the chance to hang out with them all at once! I flew from Dallas to DC and met up with Noor there. We stayed with her sister Neda, her husband Andy, and their almost 9 month old son, Jack. The next day we drove several hours, so far into western Virginia that we were a stone's throw from West Virginia. As far as I was concerned, the whole purpose of this trip was for me to hang out with baby Jack, but we had this other reason (just for show, of course), which was the wedding of Beth and Vinnie! Beth and Noor went to high school together and their families are friends. So we enjoyed a lovely wedding at The Homestead, surrounded by great people who I didn't really know until we became acquainted on the dance floor. So that was the gist of my wonderful Dawoody weekend. More here. It was great, and getting to know Noor's family was extremely fulfilling. It should be noted that this gallery is not nearly as cool as it's better sister gallery over at Noor's SmugMug. That's got most of the good shots, so hit that up. Also Andy and Neda's gallery.
